Jho Low tidak mungkin untuk menghadapi PAC siasatan ke atas 1MDB
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) might not be able to call Jho Low for questioning because the law limits its scope to civil servants and those serving in GLCs.
According to PAC deputy chairperson Dr Tan Seng Giaw (photo, seated left) said the PAC would thus have to study the law in detail to see if Low can be called.
"The people want us to capture everything in one net.
"However, we are focussing on four officers. They will provide us a lot of information," Tan is quoted by today's issue of Chinese daily Nanyang Siang Pau as saying.
The four are Treasury secretary-general Irwan Serigar Abdullah, Economic Planning Unit (EPU) director-general Rahmat Bivi Abdullah, 1MDB chief executive officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy and his predecessor Shahrul Ibrahim Halmi.
"We will find out who are the decision makers," Tan, who is the DAP parliamentarian for Kepong, said.
The PAC hearing on 1MDB related matters is scheduled to be held from May 19 to 26.
Several top Umno leaders have urged the authorities to investigate Low following several exposés by whistleblower website Sarawak Report.
The website has on several occasions reported that Low hasstrong influence on 1MDB's decision makers and has benefitted from the company's deals.
Low has denied this and claimed that 1MDB had, on occasions, sought his advice on doing business with people in the Middle East.
He also claimed that he was being made a scapegoat for bad decisions made by 1MDB. Low has no official position in 1MDB.

Jawatankuasa Kira-kira Awam (PAC) mungkin tidak dapat untuk memanggil Jho Low untuk disoal siasat kerana undang-undang yang menghadkan skop untuk kakitangan kerajaan dan mereka yang berkhidmat dalam GLC.
Menurut Timbalan Pengerusi PAC Dr Tan Seng Giaw ( gambar, duduk kiri ) berkata PAC dengan itu perlu mengkaji undang-undang secara terperinci untuk melihat jika Low boleh dipanggil. "Rakyat mahu kita menguasai segala-galanya dalam satu bersih. "Bagaimanapun, kami memberi fokus kepada empat pegawai. Beberapa pemimpin Umno bahagian atas telah menggesa pihak berkuasa untuk menyiasat rendah berikutan beberapa pendedahan oleh laman web pemberi maklumat Sarawak Report . Laman web ini mempunyai beberapa kali melaporkan bahawa Low mempunyai pengaruh yang kuat ke atas pembuat keputusan 1MDB dan telah mendapat manfaat daripada tawaran syarikat.
Rendah menafikan ini dan mendakwa bahawa 1MDB telah, pada masa-masa, mendapatkan nasihat mengenai menjalankan perniagaan dengan orang-orang di Timur Tengah. Beliau juga mendakwa bahawa beliau sedang membuatkambing hitam untuk keputusan yang buruk dibuat oleh 1MDB.Low tidak mempunyai kedudukan rasmi dalam 1MDB.
