Walau Najib menafikan tuduhan SWJ. Pengguna media sosial seolah tidak percaya dan terus menyerang Najib...
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak continued to receive brickbats from Malaysian social media users today with some asking him to step down, despite having issued a denial on Facebook on the allegations by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
Some, including Lufias Kamal, Nur Fikri Abdullah and Muhammad Rayyan, dismissed Najib's denial, saying past instances showed that the prime minister's word could not be trusted.
"Semua janji pilihanraya 13 tak tertunai. Malah berlaku sebaliknya. Sekarang kau nak aku percaya dengan cakap kau.. tak payah. Penipu," said Lufias Kamal.
(All promises made in the 13th general election have not been kept. In fact, it has been the opposite. Now, you want me to believe your word...no need. Liar.)
"You can say whatever but I just don't trust you PM Najib. Just looked at their comment, they don't support you except your for your cabinet minister," Nur Fikri Abdullah added, referring to the comments by Facebook users criticising him.
Muhammad Rayyan said: "1MDB wasn't the only corruption that happened during your governance, you can say anything that you want but we, the citizen want you to prove you are not. Trust and believe now at the zero level."
Others urged Najib, who is also the finance minister, to prove his innocence by taking legal action against the WSJ and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"Hi PM, since all the allegations are fake, please sue WSJ and Tun," said Ivan Cpc.
"If what you say is true... sue WSJ and Tun M... to clear yr name la," added LeeLee Ee.
While some told the prime minister that he had not gotten the majority vote in the last election, dismissing his claim that he was "democratically elected".
"Wait wait wait... What??? You are democratically elected Prime Minister??? What a joke... I dont remember we ever choose who will be our Prime Minister! Remember you only has 47% of votes. Not 53% as opposition party had!! Clear??," said Hiu Vui Lung.
"You are elected by 47% of Malaysian only," added Rain Fow Chek.
Najib sparked similar fury yesterday after his office released a statement, blaming the WSJ report on "certain individuals" and calling it "a political sabotage".
The prime minister's personal message posted late last night, defending himself against the WSJ article, did not seem to have diminished the anger and criticism.
Najib said the "unsubstantiated and outrageous" allegations against him and his family were part of a concerted campaign of political sabotage to topple a democratically elected prime minister.
He said, contrary to the allegations in the WSJ and Sarawak Report, he had never taken funds for personal gains from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) or any other entities.
He said these attacks began when he refused to implement Dr Mahathir's personal demands.
He added that the former prime minister “created a crisis” by recklessly claiming that RM42 million was missing from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
The prime minister's posting has garnered more than 6,000 likes and more than 8,500 comments since it was put up more than half a day ago.
